Only 19 countries in the world do not have mHealth initiatives

image003

Complain all we want about occasional dropped calls or no bars, but the planet’s wireless coverage exceeds that of the electrical grid—with wireless signals reaching 85% of the world’s population. You have to wonder why any country (any healthcare policy, or any marketing effort) would forego investment in a platform that delivers unprecedented access to diverse health services and programs. Why your site should be “Mobile Friendly” or “Mobile Optimized”

mobileor

As of the third quarter of 2010, the Nielsen Company reported, 28% of U.S. mobile subscribers now have smartphones, cellphones with operating systems resembling those of computers.

Also, as Leigh Householder reported in her post “Healthcare marketing trends: Three potential game changers we’re watching“, Bulletin Healthcare’s analysis of email briefings to more than 550,000 healthcare providers, including more than 400,000 physicians showed that mobile consumption of medical news climbed by 45% between June and February. Their result is that almost three in 10 healthcare professionals now access the daily medical information contained in their briefings on mobile platforms.

What does this mean for you? This means that a lot more physicians will have access to your website on their smartphone. So what? Is your website mobile friendly? Is your website mobile optimized? If your site uses Flash, it’s neither.

What’s the difference between “Mobile Friendly” and “Mobile Optimized”? Read Full Entry

You may have already heard about the Atrix as it won ten awards at CES 2011 and touts several “world’s first” claims. Their claim “world’s first dual-core processor” is changing the definition of a mobile phone. Its processing speed is fast enough to function as a computer as well as a mobile phone. Read Full Entry

Is your brand ready for mobile search?

Paid-Mobile-Search-Ads-To-Gain-Major-Momentum-In-The-Short-Term

A recent study was posted showing that searching from a desktop computer and a mobile device saw an 86% difference in results. Most companies (both in Pharma and outside the industry) don’t fully appreciate mobile search and the amount of traffic that they could be receiving from it.

Consider the patient that just went to the doctor and was handed a new prescription. They get in their car and before driving to the pharmacy, search for information on the medication on their phone. Do they end up getting information on the non-mobile branded site or one of the other sites that provide drug information (Drugs.com, RXList.com)? Does your site even display correctly on mobile devices? Does your paid search advertisements display on the mobile version of Google?
